Wellbeing Wednesday Singing Group

About

Wellbeing Wednesday Singing Group has been running since January 2017. We meet once a week on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm at Field Terrace Community Centre (Off Slack Lane, Ripley, Derbyshire DE5 3HL).

We are a relaxed and informal group that take part in group singing to improve our wellbeing.

Our group has a strong social element built around it, and we aim to provide mutual support and friendship to each other, as well as organising social events for our members.

We have also previously organised performances in the community, including singing in the Crooked Spire, Chesterfield and singing in local residential homes.

New Members

New members are most welcome, and we cater to all singing styles and abilities. We welcome everyone from experienced singers to people who have never sang before and just want to give it a go.

If you would like to come along to our group or would like more information, please get in touch on 07958 538421 or wellbeingwednesdaysinginggroup@gmail.com or fill in the contact form.

Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service

Our group is supported by the Derbyshire Recovery and Peer Support Service, a Derbyshire wide service which was established to help people improve and maintain their mental health and wellbeing, and reconnect with their local community by offering access to targeted one-to-one staff support, telephone support and community groups. It is open to anyone over the age of 18 living in Derbyshire who is experiencing mental ill health.

For more information, visit their website.

They also maintain an interactive map of peer support groups in Derbyshire, which can be viewed here.

Ripley Town Council

We have been successfully awarded a grant from Ripley Town Council to help with transport costs to and from our group. This will help our members so much with the cost of travel. Many thanks to all at the Council for this generous grant.
